Paratriathlon is a division of the sport of triathlon that incorporates individual athletes with varying degrees of disability. Triathlon is the only sport - anywhere - in which disabled athletes compete side-by-side with able-bodied athletes at local, national and international levels.

Classification

Paratriathletes are split into 6 categories (TRI 1 - TRI 6) that reflect athletes with different types and levels of disability from paraplegics to amputees to the blind to those with permanently degenerative diseases.
