I was curious if anyone else has thought of this. I started with a basic carbon fiber bike, added custom wheels, a power meter etc, etc… and soon realized that my protective nature and care given to my bike was not unfounded. I don’t leave my bike outside with someone watching over it (her). After a long ride my bike gets cleaned up and wiped down before I do. If the weather outside is unpleasant my bike is placed carefully inside my SUV rather than riding outside on the bike rack. During events our bikes are watched over by people we probably have never met and may not know if we were to see them at the grocery store. As careful as we are, each year bicyclists are hit or forced off the road by automobile drivers and either injured or killed. Is anyone aware of an insurance company that does business in Massachusetts that offers separate insurance to cover injuries to riders in the event of an accident or replacement value of the bicycle in the event of damage or theft? I spoke with my home and auto insurance companies and was informed that homeowners policies would cover a depreciated value of the bike in the event of theft but there wasn’t an option for replacement value. Is anyone aware of an insurance company that does business in Massachusetts that offers separate insurance for bicycles? Thank you… Joe |

Sorry, I intended to say...I don’t leave my bike outside without someone watching over it (her). |

I checked out tribikeinsurance.com and did a quote for my bike, then both bikes and the premium was like $750. You might as well take your chances. |
