How do I host a triathlon in my town?

Dear USAT and all fellow collegues! I am trying to host a triathlon in my town or at least in my county. I don't know where to begin, who to contact, etc. I had contacted USAT about a month or so ago but, to no avail. I am the Head Athletic Trainer at a high school and have been asked by the football coach to do this as a fundraiser for the school and the team. Having participated in triathlons, as I still do, he knows I have a lot of experience as to what we would need and how to help people prepare. He would like to have the event take place on Memorial Day Weekend if at all possible. Where do I start?!?! Help! Time is running out and I need to get the ball rolling.
