I'm signed up for Ironman UK in August and am wondering what options I have for bike transport from USA to UK other than the "obvious" options of: (1) shipping as luggage on my airline (Continental) in a hard-shell case; or, (2) shipping via DHL myself. I'm also hoping to avoid having to re-assemble the bike myself as I'm not terribly mechanically inclined. I also am not keen on lugging around the bike for a week after the race while sight-seeing, so advice for return shipping is also appreciated. |

I would ship to a local bike shop and have them assemble it for you. Then just ship it back or take it on the plane. I can't think of any other ways to ship without being without it for a period of time. Good luck! |
