I'm a beginner triathlete, bought a bike last year, did some training, did a couple sprints and a half-ironman distance race. My question/problem has to do with my feet. Whenever I ride they get numb from just behind the "balls" all the way forward to the toes. They actually feel like they are "freezing", even though I am sweating. I have Specialized shoes, with a triangular cleat that clip into a Shimano Ultegra pedal. Anyone heard of this? Any suggestions? BTW: I can ride for hours on a stationary bike at the gym with no problems. Thanks. |

Gerald: I've heard of this happening when shoes don't fit properly or when you're still getting used to the stiff soles and cleats. Our sport performance crew also suggested that this could be a bike fit issue. Be sure that your shoes are the proper size and that you are fitted properly to your bike by a pro. Hope these ideas help. |
