Ambassador Program
The USAT Ambassador Program is comprised of volunteer individuals who have chosen to give back to the sport of triathlon through their time and talents. In 2007, USA Triathlon decided it needed an instrument to help further train our volunteers and streamline the process through which race directors fulfill their USAT membership obligations at races, as well as provide an outlet to educate multisport participants. Thus was born the idea of setting up a location at each participating event known as the “USAT Fueling Station” run by a group of volunteers known as the “USAT Pit Crew”
There are two primary goals for the USAT Ambassador program. The first is to promote USAT and the sport of triathlon through the sale of Annual Memberships. The second is to help promote and build a community between USAT, multisport and its participants. USAT encourages everyone to “Get Involved!”

Why Join the Pit Crew?
Besides the obvious benefit of volunteering to help the sport you love, we have implemented a point formula which volunteers can use to obtain valuable merchandise, gear and memberships to USAT through the hours they have worked at each event and number of annual memberships sold. You can choose to cash in your “points” as you go for smaller merchandise and membership perks, or you can accumulate them over the year and use them toward bigger items as you volunteer at more events. For example, each time you work an event 1 hour of volunteer time will equal 1 “point”. Points can also be obtained through the sale of USAT memberships.
Schedule of Training Sessions
USAT has produced a tentative schedule of training sessions. More dates will be added, so be sure to check back often for updates as we continue building the 2008 Ambassador training season.
