Personal: Brian William Fleischmann… Born Aug. 8, 1978 in Jacksonville, Fla.… Parents are William and Carol Fleischmann… Has one sister, Kim Fleischmann… Brian plans on making the 2008 Olympic Team. 

Elite Triathlon Career:  Third overall and second American at 2007 USAT Elite Nationals… Member of the U.S. Pan American Games team in 2007, finishing eighth in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil… 2007 Tri-California Series Champion… Brian has also competed at World Championships every year except 2005 and has represented the U.S. well with his best place of 19th being in 2001 in Edmonton... In 2006, Brian became ITU Team World Champion along side American Teammates Andy Potts and Matt Reed… In his first year in 2001 he was second at the USA Triathlon Elite Nationals in New York City prior to the terrorist attacks.

Amateur Triathlon Career:  Brian was the 1998 U.S. junior national champion and went on to place 29th at the world junior championships… In 2000, Brian placed second overall at the U.S. national championships.

Athletic Background:  Swam for four years at his high school in Jacksonville… Placed second at the 1997 state meet in the 500 freestyle and fifth in the 100 backstroke…Swam his freshman year at Florida State, then switched to cross-country and track his sophomore through senior years after discovering that he was more talented at running and burnt out on swimming.
